كأن أيلول الفلسطيني لا تكفيه ذاكرته الملائى بالتفاصيل المؤلمة للشعب الفلسطيني ، أو انه أراد الاستئثار بالمميز دوما ، فاليوم ودعت فلسطين قائدا تاريخيا ساهم وبعمق في رسم معالم القضية الفلسطينية ، فكما استقبله عام 1919 قائدا فلسطينيا ودعه عام 2007 قائدا ومعلما تاريخيا .
فقد فقدت فلسطين فجر يوم25/9/ 2007القائد والمناضل البارز الدكتور حيدر عبد الشافي ( أبو خالد ) عن عمر يناهز 88 عاما .

إن شبكة الشباب الفلسطيني إذ تعزي نفسها بهذا الحدث الجلل فإنها تتقدم لكافة المناضلين الأحرار في العالم بأحر التعازي .

As if the memory of this Palestinian September is not already leaden sufficiently with the sufferings of the Palestinian people, another sorrow is brought to bear upon them.
Today Palestine said goodbye to one of her historical leaders who contributed deeply in the shaping of the Palestinian cause. He was born in 1919, and passed away in 2007 as a leader and a historical teacher to the Palestinian people.
Palestine sadly lost on the morning of 25\9\2007 the leader and the great activist the doctor Haider Abd Alshafi (Abu Khalid) at the age of 88 years old.

The Palestinian Youth Network is grieved by this huge loss to the Palestinian cause and offers the warmth of condolences to all the freedom activists in the world.

COLLECTIVE MADNESS

Are we all mad? Is it possible that a whole people be the victim of a collective madness?

In Palestine, the USA and Israel, with the approval of the international community, are making not only the practical life impossible, but also the ideological one. The continuous harassment of a government democratically elected, the strangulation of its institutions, as it suits them, the kidnapping and execution of its leaders, and the crippling of the popular will, show plainly the aberrant ethical-political contradiction that seize our own democracies.

To impose the principles of reason's supremacy to other nations, by applying to brute force, is not only a first order error, but also a very dangerous practice of devastating consequences.

The bloody fratricide images count dead and blessed persons and settle the committed facts in a context of action-reaction. The news headlines, and on a daily basis, reports which faction has been assaulted and which one has been the aggressor, as if throughout Palestine a kind of collective mad pandemonium would be spread. And in the meantime, the Palestinian society is getting drowned in this hecatomb dialogue of violence and blood.

From the far Diaspora, in France, Sweden, Denmark, Spain, Chile, Venezuela, Canada, USA, Norway, Poland, Germany, Austria, Argentine, Greece, Ireland, UK, Italy, Dubai, Arab Emirates, Australia, Switzerland, Holland, Belgium, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan and from Palestine, land and people where all our hearts lay, we, the International Palestinian Youth Network,

- We denounce that the present situation is the alarming result of carrying out a monstrous strategic plan which has been designed for years by the Zionism aiming to destroy the historical Palestinian resistance and trying to pull up the roots of our popular unity against occupation.

- We exhort the International Community to respect the sovereign will of the Palestinian civil society, to end the economical blockade against our people and to comply with the international legislation.

- We declare our deep rejection to the filthy foreign interferences and we demand to put an end to the smear campaign of the Palestinian institutions and authorities, and the immediate recognition of the adulthood of the Palestinian people as the only, sovereign and legitimate agent to decide its own destiny.

- We call for direct intervention by the PLO as the representative of all Palestinians starting with restructuring all its entities to lead the Palestinian people out of this crisis and to continue our struggle against the Israeli brutal occupation.

- We summon the Media, because of the maze of communication evidences and the enormous manipulation held, and we earnestly ask the civil society organizations in all the countries we reside in to exert special efforts for an unconditional vital support of the Palestinian People's unity stating that Israel, in its extermination aims, is the only beneficiary of this intolerable situation .

- We demand the Governments of the European Union, to suspend the preferential agreements with Israel, to put an end to the weapons trade, to take the adequate political measures in order to assure the socio-economical stability back in Palestine, and to end the ongoing occupation of Palestine and to comply the resolutions of the United Nations that exists only on papers for more than 60 years.

- We reaffirm ourselves more than ever in the inalienable right of the Palestinian refugees to RETURN to the land where they were expelled from and forbid the right to love it and live on it.

- We beg our families, our brothers, parents and grand-parents who are enduring as heroes and on a daily basis the brutality of the Israeli occupation, that despite all the current circumstances, do not allow any one the chance to the irrational destruction of the only valuable inheritance we have since generations: our national Palestinian identity. For it our people still resisting until today. Defend it till the last day of your life! We must all work together in order to stop the devastating fights, which threaten our Palestinian national agenda, and turns all our people's Intifada achievements and sacrifices into dust.

"Divide and rule" is probably the world's eldest hegemony order. A subjugated people is much more vulnerable to the international political siege, and if you add thousands of empty stomachs, mixed together with despair and desolation, the equation produces nothing but ulcer. With the relentless pass of time, 60 years, it is feasible that it may become a cancer.

If democratic values are underpinned, they no longer make sense. A harassed Government becomes hostage; the PNA, absolutely divided of competences, becomes vassalage; an occupied nation may suffer from Stockholm syndrome and finally, hate itself.

Palestinian Youth Network

Paris, France
21-30 November 2007

We would like to announce that our second conference will be held in Paris, France between the 21st to the 30th of November 2007, in coordination with the General Union of Palestinian Students (GUPS).

Applications:

Every organization or group may present five participant applications. Three of these five will be selected, with both genders taken in consideration. New participants will be favoured during the selection process. The deadline for applications will be the 1 August 2007. Coordination committee members will have to be in France two days before the start of the Summit.
Due to the increase in international participation as well as funding limitations, we will limit each country/group representation to three participants (not including coordination committee members). As such, we aim to ensure a diverse, gender-balanced and global representation.

Participation Criteria:

Palestinian origin.

18-35 years of age.

Must represent an individual organization or group

Be fully committed to participate during the entirety of the Summit.

Be committed to building the future of the Youth Network

Introduction:

Who We Are

We are Palestinian young professionals and students from across the world united by our commitment to our people and its cause. Together, we seek to preserve our cultural and political identity and ensure that our national cause remains paramount in all local and international fora. We aim to spur our generation to seize the initiative and play a leading role in affecting the future of our national community.

Goal
To create a global network for Palestinian youths, with the aim of enhancing our direct connection and involvement with the issues and challenges facing Palestinians worldwide.

Objectives:

To preserve and contribute to Palestinian identity.

To extend and bring together the diverse capacities of Palestinian youths the world over, so as to impact both Palestinian society as well as the International Community.

To emphasize on the Right of Return, both as an individual and collective right.

To contribute to the advancement of Palestinian youths' in all areas – social, economic, intellectual, political – in order to contribute to future decision-making.

We seek to realize our goals through:

Raising Awareness among Palestinian youths of their rights and responsibilities, with special recognition of the challenges facing Palestinian refugees in exile.

Promoting global Palestinian national identity and unity as well as Right of Return.

Expanding a growing trans-national network of politically and culturally engaged Palestinians, so as to:

Exchange expertise

Provide logistical and funding support for partner organizing

Establish a trans-national documentation as well as audio and visual database, including for the gathering of a database on Palestinian oral history.

Preserve and promote Arabic language skills for Palestinian Youths

Mechanisms

Reviving Palestinian national commemorations and actions worldwide.

Organizing lectures and cultural symposiums within local communities as well as internationally.

Developing the notion of networking and trans-national cooperation among the Network's members.

Develop an informative training package for Palestinian Youths.

Organizing an annual conference of the Palestinian Youth Network.
